1/12 Scale Scratch Built Street Rod:
Built from scratch this work in progress is a model of one of my designs. From pen to pavement this project takes shape. Starting off in the planning stages using CAD programs and sketches a design was conceptualized. The project has smooth and elegant lines that pay homage to the late 30's Fords. After 3000+ hours of design the 1/12 scale prototype has begun its life into becoming a well known model and project to car enthusiasts and modelers alike.

Frame:
The most essential and critical part of the entire build is the frame. Taken from the full scale plans it is being built 1/12 of the actual size exactly the way it would be built on the real car. The frame is made up of styrene and brass pieces. The control arms were milled out of brass with a hidden pin for the shock mount. After chroming the pin will be hardly noticeable.

Crankshaft:
The counterweights were first milled out of brass, then they were surfaced and chamfered on the lathe. This was followed by machining the journals within specs of ±.0005" to insure smooth rotation. The journals are offset for the appropriate stroke.
